VThese are a few activities around the Hôtel de la Clape, within an hour of Narbonne which can be of interest for all ages. A nice selection of educational and enjoyable activities. From Australia to Africa, from Carcassonne to Perpignan, follow the guide.

Learn the fabrication of paper

The paper mill of Brousse et Vilaret, 20 min away from Carcassonne, is the last mill fabricating paper in an artisanal way in our region. The volunteers will teach you how paper was made and a plethora of activites will have you participate in the making of paper. This mill owes its survival to an association, which you will discover more about on location.

An African animal park

Located in Sigean, this African animal park of 300 hectares offers a visit by car of 7,5km to discover more than 3,800 animals of the savannah and of the bush, which are in semi-freedom. We suggest starting the visit early in the morning. Catering on site possible. Sigean’s African reserve, is 30 min south of Narbonne.

Enotourism in the Languedoc-Roussillon

Narbonne, this county where Roman cultivated France’s first vineyards. In the Aude, from Carcassonne to the Mediterranean coast, from the outskirts of Béziers to the gateways of Perpignan, wherever you rest your eyes : vineyards all around§

Aude wines

You cannot think about Narbonne, at the heart of the Cathare country, without thinking about vines and wines…
For this reason, the region is perfect for enotourism. Think about a tasting, either at our Hôtel or at our wine-growers’ place!

These are Aude’s wines :
La Clape
Les Corbières
Les Fitou
Les Minervois
Le Malpère
Les Cabardès

Sports in Narbonne Plage

If sports are essential for your holidays, all around the Hôtel de la Clape, in Narbonne Plage, Saint Pierre la Mer or Gruissan, many sports activities are available.

Hikes in the massif de la Clape
– horse-back riding
– mountain biking
– walking

Or nautical activities:
– sailing
– scuba diving
– rowing
– deep-sea fishing
– kitesurf
– jet ski, land sailing

These activities, which you can do at the Narbonne Plage harbour, at the Pissevache pond of Saint-Pierre la mer, or at the Mateille route de Gruissan pond, are all within 15 min by car from the Hôtel de la Clape

On the waterfront, it is also possible to practice quad-bike or go-kart, or to enjoy a bike ride to reach Narbonne with the bicycle path of the Grand Narbonne, which passes by Gruissan. You will pass through the former bed of the Aude, and then the Robine canal, on which you can rent small boats for a refreshing ride by the shade of century-old plane trees. Further, you can go on a quad-bike hike in the Corbières around the Lastours castle or the Fonfroide abbey.

For any further information during your stay, Nicolas or Corinne can help you and give you ideas for the whole family.
